Photography has been my hobby since 2000 after friends encouraged me attend a camera club meeting. I had seen some of their outstanding photographs and wanted to learn more. I had purchased my first digital camera which was a 3.1 megapixel Sony Mavica and wanted to learn more about photography. Well, needless to say that after attending the meeting and meeting some outstanding photographers, I was hooked.I love to photograph just about anything, but mostly flowers and other things in nature, and architecture. I use Photoshop to edit my photos and occasionally various filters to create some interesting abstracts with my images.
My camera equipment consists of a Nikon D200, Bogen Carbon Fiber tripod and several lens such as the Tamaron 200-500mm, Nikon 70-300mm VR and Nikon Ultra Wide-Angle 12-24mm and a Nikon 105 macro lens. I also have a Canon S95 which I carry with me all the time.
I am learning to paint using various paint mediums and I use my own photographs as my inspiration and doing some plein aire painting as well.
There are so many different art forms and talented artists that have become such an important part of my life and I love it! It is such a great way to meet some amazing people! I encourage everyone to get involved in art no matter how young or how old, it is fun, exciting and relaxing!
